Our Company
We specialize in the analysis of proteins, oligosaccharides and other glycoconjugates, including analysis under GLP/GMP guidelines. Our Scientists have over 15 years experience in glycoprotein and the biotech industry and have been offering these services to over 80 clients from around the globe. Our mission is to provide the analysis necessary for the development and approval of your biologics.
Our Vision
GlycoSolutions is a Contract Research Organization founded on the principles of Experience, Quality, and Communication. Founded to address the need for quality carbohydrate and protein analysis, our focus is on providing ready-to-run assays that are robust, reproducible and QC-friendly. With a commitment to good science and quality our scientists can become part of your team focused on the successful development of your drug.
Our Laboratories
Our laboratories are GLP/GMP so we can support your testing needs from early development through marketing approval. We have experience in testing to support cell culture and protein purification optimization, modification of glycosylation in support of PK studies, assay qualification and validation, release and stability testing, comparability studies.
Our Founder
Dr. Elizabeth Higgins started GlycoSolutions in 2001 to fulfill a market need for carbohydrate analysis and protein characterization of protein therapeutics. Dr. Higgins’ vision for GlycoSolutions is as a one-stop shop for therapeutic protein characterization. She believes that good science, quality and customer communication are the keys to the success of GlycoSolutions.
Prior to founding GlycoSolutions, Dr. Higgins was at Genzyme where she set up and led the Glycobiology group that was responsible for carbohydrate analysis of Genzyme’s protein therapeutics. The Glycobiology group supported R&D efforts at Genzyme as well as characterization work and the development of assays for release testing. Dr. Higgins contributed to the CMC sections of several of Genzyme’s approved therapeutic glycoproteins and was the lead scientist for the CMC section for Fabrazyme®.
Dr. Higgins received her undergraduate degree from the University of Guelph in Ontario and her Ph.D. at the University of Toronto. She also has an MBA from Boston University.
Dr. Higgins is the author of various papers and articles published in professional journals with a focus on carbohydrate analysis. A complete list of Dr. Higgins’ publications is available upon request.
